Hello doctor I am 42 years t2 diabetic form last 5 years. I am taking kombiglyze 5/500 mg from last 2 years. I just want to understand that how safe is this medicine to take for ever given the fact that it has been shown to cause heart failure and pancreatitis problem which fda also warns about. If above medicine is not good then what about sulfonylurea type of diabetic medicine? Which medicine will be good option here in that group? Just want to add here that my sugar reading (fbs, pp and hb1ac) are all in normal range when I am using kombiglyze 5/500 medicine. I tried using glycomet 500 mg sr at night from last 4 days but fps is now 116. I had cbc tested some days back and my platelets count was 90 so can I take sulfonylurea type of diabetic medicine even if platelets count is low?
