Before abortion you need to confirm the size of pregnancy and it's location by ultrasonography. If size <7wks then the chances of successful abortion by tablets only is higher. 95 to 98% mifepristone and misoprostol are both used for abortion and are only to be given by a doctor in an mtp authorized center. At least in india these tab are not available over the counter legally. Mifepristone does not affect future pregnancies or your chances of pregnancy in any way. Ideally I recommended patients to continue their first pregnancy as no one knows what the future holds and what health problems you and your husband may face in the future that could limit your chances of having a child.
