my one year old baby has a cough from a week .i give him cough syrup broxyl ls junior but not working. So I can I give him antibiotics moxikind cv dry syrup.

Question

If he has difficulty in breathing then nebulization may be help otherwise cough will settle down without doing anything. No antibiotics required if he has isolated cough only.

Without fever antibiotics may not work and antibiotics can change the microbiome and thereby worsen the existing asthma. I would suggest more of herbal remedies like a mix of turmeric honey black pepper and desi ghee given 8 to 10 times a day into the gums and buccal cavity. If there is no fever, most likely he does not need an antibiotic. But if the cough has persisted over 1 week, full consultation is advicable.

For only cough symptom no need of antibiotics is necessary. Only advise to take only home based care. If baby developed any other symptoms (like fever, breathlessness, not able to take feedings, lethargy, hampering his normal activities etc.), then need immediate extra measures/ steps.

Check his breathing and activity. If he's not breathing fast and not distressed, playful, then no medicines are required. If he looks sick to you, then consider a course of basic antibiotic like amoxicillin orally and look for improvement.
