Hi lybrate-user. Hsg. X-ray is the procedure in which dye is injected through os to see tubal patency. If tubes are patent, fimbrial end not blocked then ,when ovulation occur ova comes out of the ovary and picked by the fimbria and traverse the tube. Of tube .and sperm from vagina enters cx uterus enters the tube and fertilisation takes place in the tube nearly in mid part of the tube. .after 72 hrs product of fertilisation traverse the tube and reaches the uterus and implantation takes place. .if fimbrial end blocked or cornual end block ova and sperm can meet or anywhere blockage in tube ova and sperm can't meet .so hsg x-ray is done to see the patency.
