Hello I have concern regarding my mother she has been feeling restless lately and short on breath while brisk walking. Her past reports cbc, rft, lft, lipid profile, ecg were normal. Echo was not done had history of anemia vitb12 deficiency and depression and mild migraine treated for the same recent history of retinal hemorrhage Dr. Suggested it may be becoz of hypertension so checked blood pressure for consecutive 3 days it's around 140/90 was thinking of staring amlodipine 5 mg of telma 20 mg please your suggestions on this and if other test to be done.

Start bp medications only after consulting your treating physician, salt restriction and lifestyle modification. Proper evaluation is required whether hypertension is essential or secondary. Ecg/ echo/ usg whole abdomen/ urine routine/ vasculitis profile. Rule out diabetes and hypothyroidism. Anemia should be evaluated if persisting. Rule out sleep disordered breathing if complaints are there.
