My friend is 42 years old with pcod .she always had normal periods. Her pcod was discovered at age 37. Her flow has always been normal. Suddenly now she is having very light flow which is just 1 or 2 days but very light. She eats beetroot to increase flow. She wants to take regestrone 5 mg which ws given to her when pcod was discovered. Will it help improve flow? Strange part is periods on time all these years & flow also proper. Suddenly now days this issue.

What is the need of pursuing pcod at 42 ? If her family is complete, she does not need to bother. Eating beetroots is good as it increases haemoglobin. She is entering the premenopausal phase. There are other important concerns at this age.

Don’t worry about flow. If u are having periods for two days and using 2 pads per day, not to worry. Howver I will still advise getting tested for thyroid and prolactin, both of which can cause reduced flow. Also hopefully there is no exposure to TB? u may want to get tested for that as well.
