My 2 year 7 month having cold we already consultant doctor he gave monocef cv antibiotics & calpol 250 while giving syrup she vomiting small amount of syrups now what can we do. Again shall I give syrup or leave it.

Maybe he has diagnosed it as a lower respiratory tract infection. Please continue the antibiotic. You may use ondansetron syrup 2.5 ml on empty stomach twice daily for 2 days to control vomiting.

If vomiting back the full quantity within 30 mins have to repeat the dose.

Hi lybrate-user, if child do vomit within half hour of medicine then you must give it again as drug comes out in vomit.

If there is no fever, most likely it will be of viral origin you can hold monocef cv for 2 days, if fever increases consult again, if no fever you can leave it.

For cold paracetamol is good enough no need to take antibiotics until specifically required
