I am suffering from pcod and recently I got my acne back do after consulting my gynecologist ai started applying retinol ac gel 0.025%. It's been almost 2 months now, my acne has all subsided and even the dark marks and scars are slowly diminishing. But along with that I have noticed white patches on the area where I applied the gel. The patches are quite prominent. I can see the difference and it's very depressing.

Hello lybrate-user. Retinol cream causes excess dryness of the skin and also increases sensitivity of the skin to sun. This can cause white patches as you mentioned. So, after applying retinol apply sunscreen liberally even if you are indoors to avoid these patches in the future.

Hi in pcod you may have acne you are taking diana 35 it will control the further development of acne about white patches you wait and watch for some time it may be alright or consult skin specialist ok.

The white patches after retinol local application may not be permanent. It will gradually disappear.
