My wife is 5 weeks pregnant. Ultrasound test says, early single intrauterine gestation" however, she is having irregular spotting since 5 days. Doctor gave maintane injection. We already had mtp few months back due to excessive bleeding (irregular sac) and that time doctor prescribed folic acid tablet to avoid that in future.

Hi. Continue with the injections as advised by your doctor. Folic acid is to be taken throughout the first trimester to prevent neural tube defects. Continue that also. She should take bed rest as she was having spotting, no strenuous exercise, no lifting of any heavy weights and no relations with husband. Also, avoid papaya, pineapple and Chinese food. All the best!
