My wife is 14 week pregnant, for last two days she was having pain just above left knee which suddenly increased today a sharp pain, she is not even able to move or bent her leg comfortably. We called our gynaecologist and informed she prescribed dolo 650 mg and a gel and asked to stop ecosprin for three days as they started it. I am so much worried now what to do whether we can visit ortho doctor and how safe it is if she have to take medicines for it? She is currently taking folic acid and about to start calcium and iron tablets by tomorrow and protein powder which our doctor prescribed. Please suggest, thank you in advance.

Hi. Please don't be worried, you should continue with the medications as advised by your gynaecologist. These medicines are pregnancy safe. Observe for the next few days, visit an orthopaedician only if the pain persists. Try to keep hospital visits to minimum during these covid times. All the best!

You can take the medicines prescribed by your gynecologist. You can also visit the orthopedic doctor who can prescrbe you safer medicines as required considering the pregnancy.
