Hello lybrate-user. Since you already used a course of antibiotic and symptoms haven't reduced, the next best to do would be to get "urine for culture and sensitivity" in this we will know the type of bacteria causing the infection and the medicines which work against it. After getting the report, you can directly use the medication given in the report. And some general measure to be followed are -drink plenty of water. Stay hydrated. - wear cotton and loose underwear. - check your sugar levels once. - do not hold urine for long periods of time - try to avoid public restrooms, or else you can use toilet spray sanitiser when needed. - also if you have concurrent white discharge, get treated for that also. Hope this helps. For future follow-ups you can consult online with me.
