Hello lybrate-user. They are oral contraceptive pills. It is not used for the treatment of white discharge. -if they are used within 5 days of onset of periods, you need not use any backup method for contraception. -but if you use it after 5 days of onset of menses, you should use backup method for contraception (like condoms) for one week. - amd if you are starting in the later half of the cycle make sure you are not pregnant. - so, to remove the confusion regarding timing it is better to start on day 2 or 3 of onset of menses.
