No. Increased appetite is kind of a side effect of cyproheptadine. It wasn't intended to treat anorexia in normal children & has lot of other side effects. Try giving syp astymin 2.5 ml thrice daily x 1 month. It's an amino acid suspension. Rest you'll have to work hard on it's feeding. Infant feeding is a skill & requires lot of patience. For starters, consistency of food should always be increased gradually (liquid--semisolid--solid)

It may have some side effects like liver damage so I don't recommend it, first you decrease the breastfeeding frequency and try to feed him whatever he likes.

Babies are playful, so eat very less. Do not worry, reduce feeding the baby with milk, this will kill the appetite and instead give food in small quantity (2-3 mouth full) in frequent intervals.

Do not give cyproheptadine. You can give zincovit syp 2.5 ml once a day before food. It increase appetite. Make a habit of eating together at least once in a day so kid will learn how to chew and take soild food. Continue your efforts as it takes time so be patience. Stop daytime bf.
