It is always advisable to check the temperature (under the arm) with a thermometer. Consult the physician for fever alleviating measures if temperature is more than 100 degrees f. Alternatively, you can try saline nasal drops for stuffy nose only after consulting your physician.

Hi Lybrate user, the way you have described it looks like your baby is having upper respiratory tract infection. Usually in this scenario the baby feeds well, and coriminic drops seems fine for it. But babies do tend to get fussy or feed less particularly if they have nasal blockade or fever associated with it. If so you may have to use saline nasal drops before feeds and paracetamol drops if axillary temperature recording is more than or equal to 100 f. But if your baby is feeding very less, lethargic or having fast breathing please report to a pediatrician as soon as possible. Since your baby is preterm, please ensure that you give influenza and pneumococcal vaccines at appropriate schedule, which will help prevent respiratory infections.
