Hello doctor. I am 28 years old I have opted for multiload (copper t) as iud. My doctor has inserted it 15 days before. But daily I see brown and red spots along with the backache. before one week I saw normal white discharge but again from 3 4 days its brown nd sometimes red in color. Mu last lmp was on 8th Jan. Pls suggest me suitable method to cure my problem.

Hello lybrate-user it is common to have some discharge/spotting for initial 3 months of copper iud insertion, but it will resolve later. If the discharge is foul smelling and excessive and the back ache is increasing, and if you also have pain during intercourse then it might be a sign of infection. It can be treated with oral antibiotics. Contact me in case you need further advice.
