Hi, when to expect bleeding after taking misoprostol for medical abortion? On internet it's written tht bleeding usually starts between 1 to 4 hours. But in my case the blood flow is very low, only 2 small blood clots were passed, infact now there is no bleeding since last 12 hrs after taking misoprostol. Infact there is no pain also. I ve taken the pills yesterday morning around 11 am. Wht should be the next step?

For medical abortion recommended dosage is mifepristone followed by 4 tablets of misoprostol which is available in form of a kit. Usually mifepristone is taken first followed by misoprostol after 36 to 48 hours. 4 tablets of misoprostol are taken at regular intervals as advised. Usually bleeding starts after 1 st dose of misoprostol. If you have taken only misoprostol it may not work properly. If bleeding has stopped it's better to get a usg pelvis scan and consult for further management.
