I am having ear discharge. I consulted an ent specialist and asked for swab culture. The report showed as bacterial infection and gentamicin is effective. Is using ear drops of gentamicin ok for the treatment or I should go for tablets. Also that I have ruptured eardrum. Please suggest better treatment for the same. I did not asked this on this platform before. Thanks.

Ear drops are better as it will act exactly where the infection is present. As the problem here is the ear, ear drops are preferred more than the tablets.

Please share the culture sensitivity report in total. Gentamycin drops you can use for 7 days but you will be needing a oral antibiotic as well. You can do a online consultation for this. After the discharge is over. Consult physically once the discharge is over.
