Corticosteroids are the mainstay treatment for autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Dropping prednisolone after just a week is a bad idea, moreover, steroids should never be abruptly stopped. Long term management with corticosteroids with regular hb monitoring to check improvement is the first line of management of aiha.
