I have foot drop. I am taking physiotherapy session for the same. Physiotherapist said it?s peroneal nerve injury which has happened because I have sat cross legs for 4 hours on a drive. Foot drop movement has improved but I have acute terrible pain in foot have burning sensation and my index finger is completely stiffed. My physiotherapist. Says nerves are in regeneration mode and that is why it?s pains it?s normal and a good sign and within 2 weeks time I should be fine. I have already completed 4 weeks of my physiotherapy session. Is the physiotherapist giving m the right advice or should I consult a neurosurgeon because it hurts me a lot while walking or standing even for 2 mins. Medicines prescribed and changed ultracet course completed 5 days lyrica course completed now he advised to eat etoshine Mr. just started when will I recover from this pain only? Please advise.

Hello, 1. The diagnosis seems to be correct and you will improve gradually, the kind of problem you are having is well known and requires no surgery. You have to wait for some time and take pain killers for reducing the pain. Sometimes overvigorous physiotherapy can also cause pain, if possible you can take a break from physiotherapy for 1 week and then gradually restart it. The foot drop will recover though it may take time. The best indicatin of recovery is ongoing improvement
