breast cancer most often present as painless lump which gradually starts increasing in size , can be detected by regular self examination of breast and annual mammography after the age of forty. regular self examination of breast with flat of hands five days after the periods are over are the best method for screening I think as it is inexpensive easy and does not involve any risk of radiation exposure. if you find any abnormal lump see a doctor for clinical examination and further tests as needed.,
