Most of the time stomach pain are not serious and can be easily diagnosed and treated. However stomach pain can also be a sign of a serious illness so we have to find out the cause and treat accordingaly. Please provide the following information to find out the cause :- 1. What type of pain are you experiencing ? Burning, Cramping, Spasmodic etc. 2. Location of pain, Is it confined to a particular area/ Is the pain throughout your abdomen 3. When does the pain occur ? Always ? More often in the morning or at night ? 4. If the pain comes and goes, about how long does it last each time? Does it occur after eating certain types of foods or after drinking alcohol ? 5. How long have you had this pain ? 6. Does the pain also radiate into your lower back, shoulder, groin, or buttocks ? 7. Are you currently taking any medications ? 8. Does any activity such as eating or lying on one side relieve the pain? 9. Have you been injured recently ? Besides this following tips will be helpful :- There are a number of effective ways to reduce stomach pain. Naturally, prevention is better than cure, Avoid foods and drinks that you know will trigger an attack, and try to minimise the effects of stress on your digestion. Many times simply lying down and resting, hot water fomentation with hot water bottle is very helpful. Buscopan is an effective and well-tolerated treatment for abdominal cramps, pain and discomfort.
