Sir, patient hadslurred speech (ex smoker for 30 years and had lot mucus .i thought slurred speech due to more mucus) and imbalanced walk (as some said it was due to calcaneal spur at right heel) since 2015 and than I consulted neurologist in 2017 .on starting medication for 1 month (toprozole, cidogrel,stator f ,lexeit ch) I got fever ,chills, confusion,dementia, immobility for 2 days than met local doctor than on left all medications .again on 2018 oct consulted same neurologist and given the treatment but again on 1 month medication same thing has happened and again left medication .than again in 2020 aug consulted same neurologist again on starting medication same thin happened after one month of medication .than sir diagnosed as epilepsy .and continued treatment this time but the same thing happening again and again (8 times in a year) .why it is so? .does it side effect of any medication.(i am medical student .i studied in some articles than toprozole will cause dementia confusion in rare cases on long term. Please answer us .weather he has over diagnosed as epilepsy?

Hello, epilepsy patient should be having seizures and the history you have provided does not have any features suggestive of epilepsy/ seizures, in case you have not missed the history. To me slurred speech and gait ataxia appear to be part of broader ataxia being induced by something, difficult to say what. A fresh consultation with a neurologist is required, maybe a different one.
