Hello, folic acid is required before trying to conceive. The usual dose is 400 microgram which would be sufficient. It is better to get a scan done from your gynecologist to check if you have pcos. In case you do, you would require medications for egg development in order to conceive. Keep your weight in check by following lifestyle modifications in the form of diet and exercise.

Folsafe and folic acid are same maybe some vitamins less or more. Mutton is needed for its iron content but usually can't incite periods. Folic acid doesn't lead to pregnancy. It helps prevent anomalies in the baby so should be started preconceptionally. Since you didn't conceive despite taking glycomet, it needs to be checked whether you are ovulating or not. You need to get your amh levels and antral follicular count done. Consult an infertility specialist thereafter.

If the periods are irregular and you are not conceiving, it means that you are not ovulating. You need drugs to induce ovulation and a scan to exclude PCOD.On the other hand your husband should also be investigated for seminal parameters.
