My 2.9 year old son got seizure at 2.1 years. Its was twice between 4 hours of interval. After treatment we are giving him valparin two times 2.5 ml. Want to know, if this medicine can cause hyperactivity as he has this issue of hyperactivity. A known person mentioned that his hyperactivity could be due to this medicine, and we should seek second opinion. Can you suggest if removal of this medicine is considerable? I ll consult his doctor before taking any action, looking up suggestions on my concern.

Hello, valparin (sodium valproate) is known to induce hyperactivity in some children. You should go to your doctor and inform him about same and I am sure he will change the medicine. Do not try anything on your own.
