Looking back, in the light of the symptoms I have, I can safely say that I suffer from gerd since my childhood. This was confirmed through barium meal test and endoscopy. In 1998 I was put on omeprazol followed by neksium 40(esomeprazole) in 2010 which means that I have been depending on this drug family for symptomatic relief for the past 17 years. I understand that prolonged use of this drug hampers deposition of calcium in the bones and may aggravate bone health. In the circumstances, I want to avoid this drug. Kindly suggest and help.
