Hi lybrate-user, thank you for reaching out. I understand that your right testis might be painful and tender without significant swelling or increase in size to be detected on usg. Based on your findings thus far, inguinal hernia does not seem likely but there are several other causes that come to mind including epididymitis, epididymo-orchitis, uti and so on. The doctor that you have consulted should be able to tell better and he has the advantage of having examined you. Examination of the lower abdomen and inguino-scrotal region play a vital role in diagnosis in cases like yours. In any case, clinical examination, inguino-scrotal usg along with lower abdomen/pelvis or maybe an mri, urine analysis and culture, etc. Are things that might be of help in reaching a conclusive diagnosis. That, in turn will translate into better treatment and faster relief. I cannot prescribe medicines here but if you need any help or have further queries, you can reach me on private chat here at Lybrate. I hope I have been of help. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Most likely you have developed funiculities which is inflammation of the cord of the testis - it generally takes few days to subside: if your sonography is normal and clinical examination is normal’ there is very less likelihood of any severe disease: however get a sonography of testis done and if you find any abnormality in the report consult a doctor.
