I met with an accident three days back, and got wounded on my knees. I am cleaning it once a day with savlon in warm water and then applying soframycin or neosporin powder on it. When I apply neosporin the wound after few hours becomes dry and feels like it's healing and when I apply soframycin the wound releases yellowish fluid and blood when I try to clean the blood the dried or the healed skin comes out. What to do? Am eating amoxicillin tablet and zerodol sp for pain. I am a 20 years old, female.

Hi lybrate-user, feeling sorry for the trauma you are undergoing after the accident. Anyways, it is important to know the time frame of healing .meaning is how much time the wound take to heal. Normally the answer is 7-10 days in case soft tissue injury. However it might take bit longer if it is above moving joint like knees. You are doing everything correctly, do not worry ,wounds will heal fast. Also, neosporin is a topical powder which dries on the surface, and soframycin is an ointment (oil or parafene based) so soframycin will release a bit of fluid. Do not worry about that. Thanks and regards.
