A few weeks after I had unprotected sex I started getting a sort stretchy pain that comes and goes, burning sensation during peeing and lower abdominal cramps. I had a history of kidney stones but I suspected myself of having an ectopic pregnancy (i had taken levonorgestrel about 48 hours after sexual contact) after negative pregnancy test results and unusual vaginal bleeding and took 30 mg of methotrexate. After 14 hours to ease the cramps in lower abdominal area, I took 4000 mcg of folic acid supplements but now I have concerns that the methotrexate may not work as intended.

You should have first confirmed the ectopic pregnancy by an ultrasound before taking methotrexate. First get an ultrasound to confirm and we will proceed with further treatment.
