The recovery of the brain from surgery and removal of tumors depends on how your father was before the procedure. The time taken for recovery varies hugely from patient to patient. Patients need to undergo physiotherapy and gait training to improve their weakness and balance after surgery. They also need to be regularly followed up with brain scans to catch any new problems or recurrence of the tumor.
