The penis is the common outlet for urine and semen. There is a tube in it which transports this urine and semen outside which is called urethra. While urine is watery and flows well, the semen which is made up of sperms and secretions of these glands and some other cells, is thick and it requires the urethra to be lubricated to enable smoothe exit of ththere are semen.
