The exact cause of eczema is not known but medical professionals believe that combination of genetic and environmental factors result in the development of eczema. Children are at risk of eczema if parents (either one or both) are suffering from it. Environmental factors leading to eczema include: irritants such as soaps, shampoos, detergents, disinfectants, and also fresh juices from vegetables, fruits, and meat. Allergies due to pets, dust mites, mold, and pollen lead to eczema. Extreme hot and cold temperatures. Foods such as dairy products, eggs, nuts and seeds, and wheat. Stress and change is hormone levels.
