Hello doctor! my father's blood pressure has fluctuated too frequently for the past couple of months. Doctor please let me know what are the normal ranges of bp and how is the blood pressure categorized?

Blood pressure has been generally categorized in four categories depending on its range. These are - normal blood pressure (bp is 120/80 mm hg or lower), elevated blood pressure (upper number ranges from 120 to 129 mm hg and the lower is below and not above than 80 mm hg), stage 1 hypertension (above number ranges from 130 to 139 mm hg or the lower is between 80 and 89 mm hg), stage 2 hypertension (above number is 140 mm hg or higher or the lower is 90 mm hg or higher).
