Hello doctor. I am a father of 16 years old son. My son has a visible large breast and I know he hesitates to discuss this. I read about and found this may be a condition called gynecomastia. Doctor please tell is this a serious problem?

No, gynecomastia usually is not a condition with serious complications. It is noncancerous. However, it becomes tough to live with it as men and boys may feel embarrassed while staying in the group of people. There might be pain in the breasts and nipples become sensitive when it rubs against clothes.
