There are several factors that affect the hemoglobin levels in the body. These include- 1) red blood cells and white blood cells are produced inside your bone marrow. There are certain diseases and conditions that stop the formation of enough red blood cells inside bone marrow, leading to low hemoglobin levels. 2) if you lose blood from injury that eventually results in iron loss from the body. Blood loss results in lower hemoglobin levels. Women, sometimes, have low hemoglobin levels because of loss of blood during their menstrual cycle. Internal bleeding like bleeding ulcers also may become a cause of low hemoglobin. 3) if your body fails to absorb iron, it eventually halts your body to develop red blood cells. 4) your body has a lack of nutrients like iron, vitamins b12 and b9.
