Sterile after 48 hours of aerobic incubation: this phrase likely refers to a culture or microbiology test where a sample is incubated aerobically (with exposure to air) for 48 hours to check for bacterial or fungal growth. If the sample remains sterile after this period, it means that no significant microbial contamination was detected during the incubation period. Sperm count 70 million, mobility 20%: a sperm count of 70 million is generally considered within the normal range. However, a sperm mobility (motility) rate of 20% is lower than the typical reference range (which is often around 40% or higher). While it's still possible to achieve pregnancy with a 20% motility rate, higher motility is generally more favorable. Treatment options might include lifestyle changes, supplements, or medications. Consulting with a healthcare professional or a fertility specialist is crucial to determine the most appropriate course of action based on your individual situation. Timing of semen test after intercourse: the timing between intercourse and a semen analysis can influence the results. A 10-day gap between intercourse and the test may not provide the most accurate representation of the current sperm parameters. Sperm parameters can vary, and it's often recommended to have the semen analysis done within 2-7 days after the last ejaculation to get a more accurate reflection of sperm quality. Having the test done within 3-4 days after intercourse is a common guideline to ensure that the sample represents the most recent sperm production. The 10-day gap may lead to less accurate results regarding current sperm quality. Regards Dr. Ms. haque.
