Blood clots during periods suggests heavy bleeding. The cause may be related to general health or problem related to gynaecological causes related uterus, tubes, ovaries etc. Hence ideally she should see a gynaecologist who will take medical history, blood tests, sonography etc. To arrive at diagnosis. Then treatment plan including a diagnostic curettage. For young ladies surgeries are not performed as a choice.
