I have trouble deep breathing and it has become progressively worse over the last year. I stopped smoking january this year. I can not sleep on my left side and more than often wake up gasping for air. I have constant tingling feelings in my left hand and feel dizzy most of the time.

Dear Lybrate user, smoking decreases oxygen carrying capacity of lungs as well as smoke causes consolidation of lungs so due to it you are getting deep breathing problem. Better you check cbc, esr, chest xray pa view, blood crp level, lung function test and send me reports by message, after that I can suggest you homoeopathic medicine & some breathing exercises so that you will get relief.
