I was a heavy smoker for about 7 years. Now I am almost quieting. And I want to go to gym. Can there be side affects if I go to gym? What else can I do?

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Very nice. I am happy that you decided to quit smoking. Go ahead, do it. You can go to gym for sure. but for 4 weeks do not indulge in rigorous exercises and weight training. let your body, especially lungs, repair itself. Give it time. there will not be any side effects or withdrawal symptoms. Take care.

Mostly not, get a cardiac evaluation before attempting GYM, to be on safer side
