This condition is called stress urinary incontinence. Your mother needs to be assessed by a urologist for any associated prolapse of urethra or bladder. Treatment in early stages is pelvic floor strengthening exercises (kegel's exercises) and medications. If severe, it can be cured by a minor procedure called transobturator tension free vaginal tape.
