My Dad's sonography tells that he has moderate left pleural effusion, what does that mean and what should we do now? His age is 55 years and he is not addicted to anything and he has BP problem.

He is most likely to be having Tuberculosis but if possible get pleural tap done to rule out cancer

There are many causes for unilateral pleural effusions. First get pleural tap done and send fluid for examination as biochemical, cytology and ada.
