My mother, age 59 has Bell's palsy. Blood sugar found high. Fasting blood glucose=187.2 and post meal blood glucose=368.0 Doctor says they need to admit her and give her steroidal medicines and parallel give her insulin. Please advice if any alternative where we can treat her at home with oral medicines Thanks,

Yes, there are oral steroids that can be given to outpatients. Also, she can be put on Insulin at home. Hospital admission for starting steroids & Insulin alone, is unnecessary.
