I was a patient of buccal mucosa last year, after 6 chemotherapy & 21cycle radiation, cancer be end according to my doctors & M.R.I.report,but after radiation my mouth is restricted and not open properly so I am unable to eat food. Please guide me for further treatment. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, this condition is called radiation fibrosis of the tempero mandibular joint. Normally this should not happen unless the mandibular joint is fully exposed to radiation. This has now happened, you should hold a cork between your teeth and go on clenching your jaw. Do this regular exercise and by this you may open your jaw. Not doing so the condition can worsen. This is called trismus. This is a form of physiotherapy which can help you in opening the jaw.
