Male, 23, type 1 diabetic and have peripheral neuropathy both in hands and feet. Still can feel hot and cold, walk for miles, but blood supply in feet sometimes. Yesterday a brick fell on my left foot while playing cricket, no bruises or wounds since I was wearing shoes, but it caused swelling there. I'm afraid to ask this. Could it cause an infection and get amputated?

You have not felt any pain due to nerve weakness as a result of neuropathy. Infection sets in if there is a wound as you have no wound, chances of infection is minimal. Can you send me the list of medicines you take and reports of your fbs, 2hr ppbs and hba1c for better control. Are you taking vitamin b neuro supplements? tell me details privately.
