Hi Diabetics should eat small meals every 2-3 hours. Include lots of fresh vegetables, greens and fruits like apple, sweet lime, orange, pomegranate, guava, plum. Do not eat fruits with meals but always have it as a snack. Eat lots of protein rich food like paneer, channa, lean meat like chicken and fish, egg whites, sprouts. Proteins give you energy and do not increase blood sugar. Avoid white rice ,bread, pastas, junk food, fried food, sweets. Eat 2-3 almonds and 1 walnut every alternate day. If you feel like having something sweet you can have 1 fresh date but not in excess. Drink lots of water.
