By urine retention you mean you are not able to pass urine? If its so take plenty of water during the day time atleast 2.5 to 3 litres in a day. Take timely meals and avoid excessive spices etc. Any operations for delivary, which can change the tone of the muscles in the area. If the pain is present since the time of urine retention, it could be due to urinary infection. Any associated fever or passing redcoloured urine then you need a course of medicines after getting the urine cultre test done. If need more guidance comeback with details for further guidance. Good luck.
