Acanthosis nigricans is a part of metabolic syndrome. You should get investigated for diabetes, hypertension, insulin resistance etc. Along with skin treatment of it.

First of all get your blood sugar checked. Any other history of low grade fever in evening, weight loss? Any past or family history of tuberculosis?
