I am 47, weighing 62 kg, bmi of 20, diabetic for the last 12 years. I have been taking diamicron Mr. 30 mg (one tablet bbf) for the past 10 years. I achieved very good control when I started the tablet. Over the last two years, however, the hba1c has slowly started to deteriorate, increasing to 6.5 (currently) from the excellent level of 6.0 (2 years ago). I also feel tiredness and weakness. My other reports like lipid, renal and liver are within normal limits.
Doctor suggests me to stop diamicron and take tendia m 20/1000 one tablet bbf.
Is this new tablet successful for patients? My company doctor however advised me a combination of januvia 50 mg and metformin. I understand both tomato and januvia are dpp4 medicines. Which is the best dpp4 medicine for my type of patient? Pl advise. Thanks.

If it is fasting than we need to treat it and if it is randon than its ok. You should get hba1c test which gives more idea.

Managing Blood Sugar

it's look like diabetic neuropathy.. need to modify your drugs if you have hypoglycemic episodes also..

From past 2 to 3 days my blood sugar is falling down (i have checked random sugar) it was in between 65 to 70 each time I had checked it. Recently I visited one MD Dr. He recommended Cbc and Lft and Ultrasound of liver and intestine region. With god's grace the results was normal. Symptoms blurry vision. Sensation of pins and needles pricking in the body. Arms and feet remains extremely cold all the time.
Please suggest what should I do next.

Dear lybrate-user, as your father is having sugar 308 mg/dl ,you should get it in normal level which is < 110 mg/dl in fasting for boil you can start higher antibiotics but first need to take sugar level Down for more you can consult diabetologist...

dear anusha, mostly it could be due to peripheral neuropathy due to uncontrolled diabetes,it has very low chance for malignancy regards hope it is helpful
