Hi
I have diabetes type 2 and my age is 64 years.
And I am taking medication of amaryl 1 mg (1 time daily in morning after breakfast) and metformin (glucophage) 500 mg after breakfast and launch. (2 times daily).
I only take breakfast and launch. And some other snacks like yogurt and milk.
I do regular daily morning walk.
I check fasting sugar level every week.
My weekly fasting sugar readings are (recent first) in mg/dl:
10 aug = 264, 03 aug = 194, 27 july = 174, 20 july = 179, 13 july = 203, 06 july = 180 my question is why my sugar level have spiked to 264 mg/dl (74 points increase) on 10 aug.
On 09 aug I eat rice + bananas + some coca cola. (rest of the week I only took foods of low glycemic index value).
Could this be the reason of this spike of 74 points?

I am diabetic and hypertensive for last 20 years. Also has high triglycerides. All are in moderate control and in medication regularly. My challenge is gout as my uric acid levels are always between 6 and 10 and keep getting gouty attack once a month on toe, ankle or knee. I will become completely immobile for 3 to 5 days. My medication: vobit m 0.2 mg - 1-0-0
onglyza 5 mg - 1-0-0
ace revelol 25/2.5 - 0-0-1
zyloric 100 mg - 1-0-1
rozucor asp 10 mg - 0-0-1
I have hb1ac at around 7.5 bp is normal
after regular medication lipid profile is also normal. Whenever I consume even 2 legs of whisky (even once a month also) I get gout. My protein diet is limited. But we eat lot of udid dal breakfast like idli and dosa. My kidney and liver function is normal. I do master health checkup including TMT every year. Moderate physical activities. Vegetarian diet. Let go fish-eating also. Please suggest what else I can do to control my gout.

I am male 80 yrs--non diabetic --hypertensive -- under control. My current serum creatinine is 1.5 mg/dl --where as the ref. Range is 0.66 --- 1.25 and
bun/ creatinine ratio is 9.03 --- where as ref. Range is 12 --- 20
please advise me, with the status of kidney in this state/ condition, can I continue taking:-
1) becadexamine multi vit --multi mineral caps --one cap a day? 2) r-vit caps-- one cap a day? Please guide me.

Since 5 years l am suffering from diabetes and taking glyciphage 500 mg two tablets daily. Last two months fasting sugar shows 146 mg. Pls suggest. Is there any need to change the tablets or raise the current tablets. L am perfectly fine now.
