I am Dr. Rakhi Khurana, Dietitian/Nutritionist. Today I will talk about PCOD. This problem is very common in females, especially in young girls. It is a hormonal imbalance which causes rapid weight gain, increased facial hair, acne on the skin. It causes high BP. This problem can be solved by following a few things into the daily routine. So, the first thing is to limit the intake of refined food. Especially like maida, rice. Switch over to complex carbs. If you wish to have bread, then you can go for brown bread, multigrain bread. If you want to have pasta, then you can have whole wheat pasta, switch to brown rice. 2nd is to increase the amount of dietary fibre in your food. Salads and fruits. Because dietary fibre has a low glycemic index which reduces the glucose circulation.

Important point is to reduce your sale and sugar intake. 4th point is to have more green vegetables like palak, Ghia, tori, Tinda because they have a lot of anti-oxidants. Very important is to limit milk and milk products. Milk products increase the level of testosterone. For PCOD patients, it is very important to do exercises. About 30 minutes of exercise in your daily routine. You can even break-up the time. If you do not have 30 mins, you can do it like 15-20 mins in the morning and then an evening. It is very important to have a good quantity o water every day. The water content in the body should be 70%.

This problem can again be solved with some naturopathy products like if every day in the morning if you have detox water or methi water, then this will also help you. How to make this? In 2 glass of water, put one teaspoon of methi dana, boil it and keep it overnight. In the morning have the water. Next, you can have the Ashoka leaves. Again take 4 glasses of water, 4-5 leaves of Ashoka tree, boil it, keep it overnight and have the water in the morning. Within 3 months your PCOD symptoms will definitely come down. Next, put 1 teaspoon of Haldi and 2-3 spoons of amla juice, mix and have it daily routine. I hope this video will help you in getting rid of PCOD.

In morning, you can have jeera water, meethi water, dalchini water but then it should be into the supervision. You should start eating salads and fruits. this is very important. To lose weight you have to have the right dietary fiber.

Activities like exercises are important. Water intake is very important. You have to have 8-10 glasses of water a day or 3 liters of water a day. Never stay empty stomach. Have something after every 2 hours to maintain the BMI. In the morning, have milk and cereals. Do not have dinner after 8 pm. Have your dinner between 7-8 pm. Do not have carbs after 8 pm. Include curd and quinoa in your diet. Whatever you are eating is not going to make you fat. It is only about how healthy food do you eat.
