I am Dr. Indu Bala Khatri. I am a gynecologist and obstetrician in South Delhi. I am going to talk about PCOD. PCOD is a very common gynaecological problem. The full form is Polycystic Ovarian Disease or the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It is very common in females. It is associated with symptom complex of delayed cycles, acne on the face or facial hair, hormonal imbalance, obesity. These are the common symptoms which come across. The treatment can be done in both the situations when one is wanting a pregnancy or one is not wanting the pregnancy or contraceptive advice also required in PCOD patients. In PCOD the ultrasound normally shows small cysts in the ovary and these small cysts can be dealt with by hormonal medicines. It is a common condition and it can be dealt with medicines, hormones, natural therapies and depending on your requirement you will be given treatment in the form of the hormones to avoid pregnancy as well or you can be given a treatment when you want a pregnancy to monitor the follicles, the exercise when you are wanting a pregnancy. Some test like lipid profile test, sugar test, serum insulin may be asked or for the hormones may be asked by the doctor to be checked and an ultrasound. Together we can together come to a diagnosis and treatment. This disease is nothing to worry about.

Hysteroscopy is another branch in which we see the interior of the uterus and can remove the polyps or any other growth inside the uterus or any misplaced Copper-T. All these things can be seen.
